What is in motion tends to stay in motion. You want to get your body working for you. I spend so much time striving and straining, trying to create and stick to new habits and getting done what I need to each day. I felt like I was always working against my body. My body wanted to stay put while my mind really wanted to move! You are not your body. Your body is your vehicle to move and be on this earth. One of the most helpful things I’ve done is join a workout group at 8 in the morning, four times a week. When I wake up, I don’t even really have time to talk myself out of it. I get dressed half-awake and get in my car. All I have to do is make it there by 8 am. That’s the hardest part until you are used to it, and then it becomes routine. Once I am there, other people are there, there is good music, and before I know it, I’m driving home with the windows down feeling like a million bucks! I feel like I’ve accomplished something so big (to me) by 9 am and I have the rest of the day to accomplish what I need to get done. After a week or two of doing this four days a week, my body is used to getting up and moving that it starts getting so much easier to keep moving.
Small Tip: If joining a group fitness studio isn’t an option for you, there are a million other options. You just need to be willing to look.
